Second-generation fan maker Monty Claw creates fans for both traditional Native American church members and Powwow dancers. In his creations, he merges his Navajo heritage with the traditions of Plains feather work. For Native peoples, feathers embody spirituality, and feather fans have a long history of ceremonial use.
